First up is H&M who have once again announced an upcoming designer collaboration with the absolute legend that is Alber Elbaz- the iconic designer at Lanvin (with menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver). The collection is due to be called Lanvin for H&M which is sure
to be the biggest fashion event of the year due for release at 200 of H&M's stores across the globe on the 23rd of November. On the 2nd of November the collection will be launched in a film online (www.hm.com) where fans can see the collection before saving up a few pennies to buy some of the dresses designed by Lanvin- so synonymous with the rich and famous and elegant. Alber Elbaz has said of the collection:
"This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”
I think this could be the best H&M collaboration yet! Especially given that Lanvin is a fashion house based around luxury and beauty which is something often lacking from the high street.
Another hot collaboration to look out for is GAP's collaboration with Valentino. The American chain is usually so low key on the high street- looking expensive and minimal with edgy pieces- but their recent announcement of a collaboration with the Italian fashion house Valentino is more than exciting! Valentino are famed for their romantic, flouncy, elaborate dresses and attire loved by the fashion industry. They champion a femininity that I would not usually associate with GAP which is what makes this coupling so interesting.
So to get your fix when the collection hits late November where the collection will be stocked in a very select few stores (Gap's new Milan store, Colette in Paris, Dover Street Market and Gap's London flagship.) This one is definitely one to look forward to! (left- Valentino A/W 2011)
Other fabulous collaborations coming up soon can be found at Topshop who always do great collections with hot new designers (new MeadhamKirchoff coming soon!). Also have a look at J+ at Uniqlo which always do such great collections for the chain!
I will make sure I do more relevant updates closer to the time on these collections and also on any other collaborations that will be coming up!
