So just as we are getting comfortable with our winter look of chunky knits and jeans, along come the intensely glamourous NY collections for S/S 2011. So though we can still focus on getting our A/W 2011 style bang on we can maybe spare a thought of whats to come for next summer!

Now at this point, it is tricky to pinpoint the hot trends for S/S 2011 as we haven't seen all the big name collections yet but from my pick from the shows we can see a few recurring themes. I am seeing a lot of expensive-looking whites (oh-so summery) as well as a lot of sheer fabrics and slinky cut-outs. There is a lot of lovely pastelly tones as well as some shows showing a huge amount of brights! The main trend that I picked up on however was the modern-monochrome look which I was absolutely loving (Alexander Wang showed it with a signature sporty edge). Another key thing to look out for when checking Vogue.com and Style.com for all the shows is to look for looks which carry on from now to next season. I saw a lot of corally reds in the shows so maybe red is a trend to invest in!
