Ballerina skirts are definitely having a moment- and are a welcome change from the leather minis and thigh-skimming skaters that dominated last season!
Hannah MacGibbon's show at Chloé was swathed in pleated light chiffons in delicate, but demure, colours. The dresses were dreamy and I can just imagine dancing around in the ultra-feminine shapes. All you need is a pair of ballet flats- not your typical pair though, strip it down to Ballerina basics with satin or dusky powder-pink leather.
The high street have cottoned on to this look with a number of pleated skirts around (Topshop have one in a variety of rich colours from cobalt to burgundy, but i'm waiting for the pretty colours myself) as well as several delightful dresses.
So shun your usual tailored dresses and tunics, the time has come for the new, modern femininity.
